Description

With M on a day that improved. In cloud with wind & snow on Spanteach but improving as we ascended Sgurr na Ciste Dubh & then sunny with views & light winds for the afternoon.
We circumvented the tricky descent from Spanteach & thereafter plain sailing with good fresh snow cover & some hard old snow beneath in places.
Were followed by 2 kind younger chaps who gave us a lift back to the car in return for trail breaking.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
