Description

From parking at NG 957 568 we walked NE along road to parking at bottom of path to Coire an Laoigh. Followed path up to corrie and onto to ridge at 810m. The top 100m of this ascent was on steep firm snow requiring front pointing and daggering near top with a small cornice to overcome to gain ridge. From ridge ascended N to trig point at 977m and then continued NE along ridge to summit at 993m. Returned to rig point and descended SW along ridge continuing around ridge to summit of Ruadh-stac Mor. From summit retraced steps back to bealach at 868m and then descended gully NW (gully had firm snow in and required front pointing and daggering for top 150m) into boulder field and onto to main triple buttress path. Followed this around loch and back out to parking. Leading one other adult. Snow cover changable depending on aspect and crampons were used for ascent and descent as well but taken of while on ridge between munros.

Area : Cuillin and Torridon (Liathach)

This area is on the west coast of Scotland and its most well-known mountains are probably Beinn Eighe (1010m) and Liathach (1055m). The area is bordered by Loch Maree and the A832 to the north and Glen Carron and the A890 to the south. It should not to be confused with The Cuillin which is on Skye and listed in the Western Isles region. The mountains list contains all peaks above 800m.
