With Peter Langhorne. Walked in from Cluanie by An Caorainn Mor over soggy ground & cutting corner to Camban in about 2.5hr with big bags.
Off next day by 7.30 to YH in light showers & up Allt na Faing to the 798m bealach. Then up Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan with odd snow patches. Summit in cloud. Descent NE in continuous soft wet snow was quite slippery so we had axes out almost to bealach. It seemed a long awkward way over Carn na Con Dhu to Mullach na Dheiragain.
Then back into the wind ro Bealach nan Daoine & across Coire nan Dearcag to 798m col. Finally up An Socach & back but circumvented pt 843 & down to YH. 8.5hr return to here. Back to bothy.
Day 3 followed a very wet night & rivers were up. Rather than add an hour by goung to the bridge, we choose to have a look at the Allt Cam Ban. We crossed at an excellent spot where the river divides around an island at 062183 - knee deep, & sloshed our way back to the car.
Area :
Glen Affric and Kintail
South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
