Day 2 of assessment.
Steep ground day - we headed out from Ogwyn Cottage and up the Y Gribin ridge focusing on group management, pointing out relevant fauna along the way, and discussing the remit of the ML award in regards to scrambling. Discussion also included when appropriate ropework might fall under ML (rarely if ever), and the types of routes which might pose challenge or risk to MLs. Lots of spotting, hands on the rock, appropriate foot placement and coaching individuals in all of the above. Once breaking out onto the Glyder ridge we hand railed the Nameless Cwm and descended the upper cliffs of Glyder Fawr down to the Sun Cneifion Rib and down towards Llyn Idwal, with debrief for the day in the last few kms to the van. After the nervous start on day 1, I came out with determination and laser focus. This was reflected in feedback which praised confidence and a good level of skill on steep ground, with advice to pursue MCI, WML and further climbing awards.
