Description

From Ogwen Cottage walked into Llyn Idwal then followed a feint path up toward the nameless Cwm to the start of Seniors Ridge, scrambled up the ridge then continued south to the summit of Glyder Fawr, walked east the scrambled over Castell y Gwynt and then on to the summit of Glyder Fach. Retraced my steps (not quite as i took the path round Castell y Gwynt) to Bwich y Ddwy Glyder, then continued north onto Y Gribben, followed the crest of the ridge north all the way to the bottom where i picked up a path (east) which i followed until i picked up the main Cwm Bochlwyd path back to Ogwen Cottage.
Today i practiced pacing and timing, i was also checking out Y Gribben as a suitable route to lead a group of novices in September.

Area : Glyderau

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
