Description

Working for Girls on Hills.
Trail running day
12 clients.
Report:
The day went well, however it was very hot, reaching 23 degrees on the summit with no wind or clouds.
Careful attention managing peoples water in take and food was really key. Knowing and briefing the group of the last water re-fills, and then managing people across the ridge made for a very interesting day.
We started at lower falls car park, ran to the top car park and along to steall falls, doing the ring of steall clockwise.
I turned 1 client around after she fell of the wire bridge and grazed her arm, we continued to just beneath the first summit when i noticed a limb getting continuously worse, she was accompanied by one other woman who decided the heat was to much for her ability.
although i could have continued with the one client i turned around, if she were to have further issues along the ridge i could not afford to loose my one other guide due to ratio's but she would have to be accompanied due to the scrambling terrain, therefore i had to be quite stern in my decision making.
This was later appreciated by her when she got back down to find she had bruised herself quite considerable.
