
Starting from overnight stop at Shenavell bothy retracing steps back up the Abhainn Strath na Sealga to try and find a fording point weather clear and sunny crossed strath and ascended the pathless slope of Beinn a Chlaiddheimh very steep with a few rock steps arriving on the summit ridge in good weather and good visibility moved along the ridge to the summit and then descended to the south top and then onto col Am Briseadh from the col ascended the north east ridge of Sgurr Ban over large quartzite blocks with the visibility decreasing in cloud to the top. from the top descended to Cab Coire nan Clach and then up Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair arrving at the top in rain and with a strengthening wind and low visibility descended to the col below Meall Garbh and contoured round on the path to Beaalach Odhar and then descending to the Eastern head Lochan Fada for overnight camp weather wet and windy.

Loch Maree to Loch Broom and The Fannaichs
This area contains four main sub-regions: An Teallach, The Fannaichs, Kinlochewe & Letterewe. The highest Munro is Sgurr Mor, part of The Fannaichs range, at a height of 1110m. The impressive Slioch (981m), although not the tallest, is described by the SMC Munros Guide as being ‘one of the great sights of the Northern Highlands’ and well worth a visit. This area sits to the north of the A832 and is almost completely devoid of human habitation.
