Description

day spent with my partner sister (Liz) and my partner (to assist with being the 3rd person). Liz has previously seconded 3 or 4 routes but on guide mode so she hasn't taken out gear. Tide was high so spent the first part of the day placeing gear and looking at setting up making anchors. The first route out of the sea was a HVS ( the expendable acoustic emitter) but it was too hard for the others, I asistedx my partner up the route to get the gear out. next the tide was out more so we did Frontiersman in series, Liz second, I placed a couple of pieces of gear, Liz added some extra bits to this and gave her gear and mine a rating out of 5. she used my gear in the anchor but set up her own rope anchor. next was the same but on Kates Escape, Liz knew it was likely she would lead this next so she looked at all of the gear and thought about rests lots. then she led with me ascending the rope next to her, this was the first time I had done this with someone who actually needed it. It worked really well and she was very relaxed and placed good gear. she was done by the time she got to the top so called it a day and I lowered her then abbed to get the gear.
