I have worked with Tim for a few years now. He has assisted me competently on one residential to Devon where he took young people climbing on various outcrops. He is a competent leader in whom I have full confidence. He also delivers indoor climbing sessions and again is a very good instructor who builds good relationships with the climbers. He is respected by other staff at Adur Outdoor Activities Centre and as the NICAS Director I am more than happy to give him as much work as is available. His personal climbing is to a high standard and very safely executed. He has taken on shared responsibility for route setting in our bouldering room and main climbing wall.

Tim is a highly skilled professional in all aspects of the outdoor industry on the mountain or at the crags. I worked along side Tim leading treks in the Italian Dolomites where he has shown confident leadership in group management, safety and wellbeing in the mountain environment for his guests. He is a passionate role model who enjoys Introducing people to the mountains and sharing his knowledge and experience in an enjoyable environment.

I have worked alongside Tim for 4 months with Collett's Mountains Holidays in the Dolomites. We have led a number of organised walks together from which it is evident he is very good leader, behaving in a professional and knowledgable manner. As a qualified climber and a good teacher, he has taught me a number of climbing techniques when we have climbed together, both outdoor and indoor.

Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor
I have worked with Tim for two years, mainly delivering the expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This involves working with young people aged between 14 and 24, facilitating training and supervising their expeditions. We have worked on a variety of jobs together ranging from Bronze D of E in the New Forest with large participant numbers to Gold expeditions in the Lake District. Tim has a really polite and kind manner and is able to quickly build a good, professional relationship with both the groups of young people and the accompanying teaching staff. The safety and well being of the client is always paramount but of equal importance is promoting a positive experience in the outdoors and encouraging further participation. Tim is technically competent but not at all cocky. He works really well in a team but can also work competently solo. This summer I worked with Tim supervising an expedition in the Lake District. We had a couple of day of quite challenging weather where the participants needed and increased level of support. Tim managed this well, ensuring the safety of his teams but still allowing them to maintain a certain level of independence. It was some of the most challenging conditions I have worked in since gaining my ML and I can not think of many colleagues that I would rather have been on the hill with that week.

Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor
I have worked with Tim for the past two years, he is a pleasure to work with and has the ability to put people at ease with his relaxed manner. I have always found Tim to always be professional, personable and attentive. He has a great rapport with both students and staff. During emergency situations at work, Tim has dealt with these in a clam and clear manner. Tim has strong technical ability and good working knowledge, which he is happy to pass to both colleagues and students; he is interested and listens to others points of view and ideas.
