Description

This was a relatively short mountain walk up the side of Winter Corrie to Driesh, followed by a path around and back down the valley via the Burn of Kilbo to the car park. The climb up Driesh was off-road, requiring us to make our own way to the top, but the rest of the walk followed a clear path. Conditions were moderate, with light rain and good visibility, and the wind was manageable throughout.

Area : Braemar to Montrose (Lochnagar)

Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
