Description

2 clients
both done a bit of climbing before and wanted to learn more about trad climbing in big places.
This was a really good route for it.
Careful management of getting the 2 to the base of the route and the small ledge was quite wet and grassy. I short roped them over placing gear on any of the more exposed sections.
we descended the scree from the top straight down to the path between liatach and beinn eighne

Area : Northern Highlands South

Extending from Torridon in the north to Knoydart in the south, and including Glen Shiel, Glen Carron and Applecross, Northern Highlands South includes many excellent and varied trad climbing venues, both in the mountains and on outcrops. The high cliffs of Beinn Eighe are simply one of the very best locations to go rock climbing in the whole of the British Isles, with many outstanding climbs on climber-friendly quartzite, while if the weather doesn’t allow a visit there the nearby gneiss cliffs of Diabaig offer climbs that are beautiful in both quality and location. The sandstone cliffs of Applecross also have many popular climbs. While the trad climbing opportunities elsewhere in Northern Highland South are more scattered and less frequented, they will certainly repay the adventurous.
