Description

Having driven to Linn of Dee, I walked with heavy bag to Corrour in 3 hours. Enjoyable evening with Karen, Kylie & Amy. Next day Devil's Point, Cairn Toul, Angel's Peak. Careful navigation to find the turn off to Monadh Mor & Lochan nan Stuirteag, then to Beinn Bhrotain & the first people of the day. Back to the col & then a steep drop, with path where you need it, into Glen Guisachan. Squelchy back to Corrour in 7.5 hr. Couple from Bamford for company.
Next morning heading back to Linn of Dee I met only 1 person.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
