Staff moderations
- Assessing competency for Clip n Climb Safety briefs
- Assessing competency for Clip n Climb Leaf of Faith activity
The criteria for these moderations is based on the technical competence stated in the Clip n Climb Operations manual supplied by EP. This document has been reviewed and edited for our purposes to be more appropriate and definitive on what is expected of all staff and to maintain a high level of safety at all times.
Moderation results are as follows:
-PASS: Staff member has met all the assessment criteria. This does not mean that there is nothing to improve on and all staff are given advice on how to improve their delivery.
- DEFER: Staff member has not met all the assessment criteria. Staff who defer on their assessment and/or moderations must be given action points to improve upon and a new assessment date. Any staff who defers twice in a row will need to bee retrained to ensure that they know and understand the standards of delivery and health and safety required on activity sessions.
- FAIL: Staff member has not met all the assessment criteria and assessor has had to intervene to prevent a dangerous practice. Any staff who fail, must be re-trained to ensure that they know and understand the standards of delivery and health and safety required on activity sessions.
All staff are to undergo moderation every 6 months, unless an incident occurs.
All new staff must pass an assessment prior to being able to lead any activity.
All staff must undergo retraining as and when delivery standards are updated to be line with industry standards.
All assessment and moderations are recorded on a training matrix and paper copies stored onsite. All records are to be presented to a Technical Advisor during an audit.
