An expedition in this area is limited to three routes and as the groups can't backtrack along the same route as they walked the previous day, this leads to groups walking within close proximity of each other. The routes are also either too short or way too long in regarding to walking speed and distance, so a lot of work is needed to slow groups down by teaching various skills along the way.
There were a few issues with this expedition:
- A couple of less than ideal road crossings. But this was no fault of the students, but poor location choice by the company.
and,
- Two students lost their soles off their boots, resulting in me doing an emergency repair.... or in actual fact, just duct taping the sole back on to the boot and duct taping their boots so that they can't come off until the end. The boots in question, turned out to be a second hand purchase by the parents. A lesson they will learn from in the future... I hope.
