Practice expedition so walked with the groups on day one and then went to remote supervision on day two.
Issues:
- The campsite hadn't been mown, which resulted in a least a dozen removed ticks. So had to give the cohort and teachers a brief about ticks and what they should do if they have a tick or have a bullseye rash after the expedition.
- Some of the instructors were upset the couldn't sleep in the car park away from the groups, mentioning that they refuse to be close to the group as they aren't responsible for overnight care (even though it is contracted).
They was an issue from one instructor who didn't appreciate the group being loud and playing football on the camp, even though we were the only group there. I did remind him that, the noise and the game was good to burn off excess energy which in turn would lead to an easier night. But he was upset, but i think that mainly stemmed from being told by the site owner that he couldn't sleep in the car park.
