Day 5
WE departed the camp in good spirits and headed up the pass to glory! The aim was to summit the pass and head over and camp approx 5km from the finish point.
AS we headed the up the valley, the terrain got progressively worse with features not showing on our maps (40m contour lines not detailed enough for our needs) and we came across a recent landslide that had blocked the path.
After much investigation, we managed to get one of the team across the obstacle but we then decided it would be too dangerous to get the rest of the team across so the tough decision was made to head back down the mountain to Day 2 campsite where we knew there was a water source.
