From Souliers at 1800m we took a variant to Lac de Souliers, where we were almost alone, and then up to Pic Ouest (2854m) with great views and a Bearded Vulture & Verticillate Lousewort. Surprisingly we saw only 3 other pairs climb Pic Ouest all day, while hordes lunched at Lac de Souliers. We went to the top of Crete de Tronchet (2592m), only to find that the route didn't continue. So back to the lac for our own lunch then round le Vallon & back to the GR58. Down to a hot Brunissard & Les Bons Enfants, which was not particularly bon. Glad we had a beer & ice cream at Chez Marius!
