Description

The third and final day of my first adventure in the lakes. And the worst weather of the three. I led john up to the summit from Wasdale for 3 peak familiarisation. I really had to motivate john and keep him moving as the threat of hypothermia was there, should he have gotten too comfy! Very wet and very windy. Very cold.

Early on we had wandered up the path and a timely back bearing confirmed we were going wrong! Identified position and took bearing to correct path!
Also coming down i had gut feeling that something was off after i seen a group. Sat john down and instructed him not to move, he ate some food while i checked back 100m or so. As i returned, three lost walkers were shouting him for help so we helped them out of the clag. Always trust instinct.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
