Description

Area : Nant Gwynant, Bethgellert, Cwellyn and Nantlle

This rather large Area covers Nant Gwynant as far as Bethgellert (including outlying crags on the the southern flanks of Snowdon, notably Llechog) , then north to Cwellyn (notable for the fearsome Castell Cidwm), and further west to the Nantlle valley with the remote mountainous crags in the Cwm Silyn range. Slither up the glassy sides of Lockwood’s Chimney, try the deep water soloing on Elephant Rock, romp up the massive buckets on Oxine, scare yourself silly on Dwm, finesse your way up Angel Pavement; these are just some of the highlights of climbing in this area.
