Description

Popped out for a quick blast with the hubby and dog.
parked up at the stickle car park, headed up to stickle tarn.
the day started of with overcast skies, however the cloud was above the peaks.
lots and lots of snow, the footpath becoming well trodden, and compacted.
colder today, around -0.5 deg at car park level.
after the tarn, we headed up to do Harrison stickle via the col between pavey ark and h/s.
waist deep snow in places, very very hard going and slow moving.
the cloud came in lower from here on in, and light snow showers.
across the top and towards pike o stickle, again very deep snow, a buried dog and me falling thigh deep into some very cold nasty bog!
attempted to head down alongside the dungeon ghyll, however the route was heavily banked out, soft, deep and slippy. no other tracks were evident either so we opted to go over loft crag and back down that way.
