With an avalanche risk covering North around to East I chose this route. Starting from Loch Moraig I followed a good path that got steep quite quickly The snow varied greatly in depth and above 800m had a hard ice bed to it. Ascending this didn`t cause a problem. Once on top I walked out to Beinn Mhaol but a late start and darkness coming in led to a decision to not to continue to Braigh Coire Bhalgain. The ice bed under the snow proved more of a problem in descent so crampons and axe, with a little glissading were employed for the descent. Great day out with good walk in/out on an easy path.
