Description

Leading a group of 5 students on a practice D of E bronze walk.
We started at The Edgecumbe Arms walking along the northern edge of the peninsula, heading southwest towards Maker church. From here we carried on in a southwesterly direction towards Kingsand. Once in Kingsand we turned to walk northeast along the Southwest Coast Path and followed this back to our start point.
The emphasis on today`s walk was on map work, walking as a team, and safety when walking in a coastal environment. The students took it in turns to use the map to navigate legs on the walk, we had discussions about safety, and the team worked well together without too much prompting.
The weather didn`t seem to cause the group too much concern, we even practiced getting into and out of the group shelter over lunch.
