Description

19.2km, 1440m. 8.00am - 6.00pm
Clear and sunny all day long with light winds. Soft slab made the going hard until we started up The Angel's Peak, when the going got better. For some reason my right hip was very painful, never happened before so a bit of a worry! A great days walk with Richard Hathway, followed by an overnight in the bothy. Noodles, chorizo, and a sachet of instant soup made a great quick tea!
Rothiemurchus Lodge, to site of Sinclair Hut, Sròn na Lairige, Braeriach, Carn na Criche, Sgòr an Lochain Uaine, Carn Toul, Stob Coire an t-saighdeir, The Devils Point, Corrour Bothy.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
