Ambleside, up valley to col, over Red Screes and back to Ambleside. Challenge was trying to find somewhere out of the bitter wind for something to eat. James discovered his trouser pockets, were too vented and certain areas became a little chilly. Ascending to col from valley quite deep snow and walls covered at col, but on the tops they were scoured. 11:30 - 15:30 Moving time 4 hours. With James and Miles.
