I have known Stephen for over seven years now, as a colleague but also as a friend. When working together Stephen has always been well organised and prepared, delivering all coaching and guiding, both in land and water based activities, to a high level. Stephen communicates and socialised well with peers and clients enabling him to get the best out of them. As a friend Stephen and I have climbed in the mountains together in both summer and winter as well as walking. Stephen is very experienced, capable and competent as a climber and mountaineer, he makes good decisions and is safe and efficient in the mountains. I have seen stephen prepare for assessments and he always aims high and is very well prepared. I have no doubt that Stephen will make a great candidate and mountaineering instructor.

Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor
I have employed Stephen to work on Mountain Leader training and assessment courses for a number of years. He has always been easy to communicate with , his personal admin is spot on and he is reliable. Stephen is very good at working with candidates. He has a knack of putting them at ease and getting the best out off them. I know when weather conditions are poor as on a recent ML assessment Stephen will make good sound decisions picking up on any weakness in the group before it developed into a more serious situation and implementing a well thought out course of action. I also ways get good feedback from the courses Stephen works on. I have no hesitation in recommending Stephen for the WMCI course , he will make a really good winter instructor / guide.
