Having grown up in the mountainous county of Kent I spent much of my childhood escaping to go camping and hiking in the UK and French Alps. On Joining the Air Training Corps (ATC) I found my love for the outdoors fuelled through Duke of Edinburgh Award and adventurous training weekends, I later went onto become an Adventure Training Instructor with DofE Expedition groups for the ATC.
I hold the Summer Mountain Leader, International Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor Awards. I am constantly seeking out opportunities to work in new environments that I love. I am comfortable with all ability levels and group sizes and enjoy teaching new skills to others. I have commercial expedition experience with adult and youth teams in Peru, Borneo, Tanzania, Alaska, Morocco, China, Nepal and Patagonia. I prioritise organisation and safety – with some bad jokes thrown in for good measure! I am also full volunteer member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue team and active British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) representative with Mountain Training Cymru and BMC rep at Mountain Training UK meetings.
I am a firm believer in making ideas happen and can regularly be found tapping up contacts for my latest projects. I have contributed previously to Trek & Mountain magazine with gear test and knowledge articles, as well as assisting in early product development with Jöttnar. On the 8th day of the week, i’ll be working on the latest recce project for a client!
