I am an International Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor. My wife Kate and I set up and now run RAW Adventures and Climb Snowdon, along with a fantastic team of other MTUKI qualified leaders. Weare based in Snowdonia, North Wales and are providers of the Hill and Mountain Skills scheme as well as Lowland Leader, Hill and Moorland and the Camping Leader, in addition to this we are Approved Activity Providers for Duke of Edinburgh Award.

I enjoy seeking out opportunities to work in new environments here in the UK and overseas and love working up challenge events and expeditions form scratch. When out in the mountains I am comfortable leading all ability levels and group sizes and enjoy teaching new skills to others along the way.
I have planned and led numerous commercial trekking and high altitude expeditions with adult and youth teams in Greece, Spain, Peru, Borneo, Tanzania, Alaska, Morocco, China and Patagonia. I also carry out scouting and feasibility projects for UK and oversea challenges, filming projects and training courses and always prioritize organizational safety, with some bad jokes thrown in for good measure!
I am member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue team and an the British Association of International Mountain Leaders representtaive for Mountain Training Cymru, as well as the North Wales rep.

Having grown up in the mountainous county of Kent I spent much of my childhood escaping to go camping and hiking throughout the UK and fortunate to alos get to the French Alps. On Joining the Air Training Corps (ATC) I found my love for the outdoors fuelled through Duke of Edinburgh Award and adventurous training weekends, I later went onto become an Adventure Training Instructor with DofE Expedition groups for the ATC.
I hold the Summer, Winter and International Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor Awards. I am constantly seeking out opportunities to work in new environments that I love. I am comfortable with all ability levels and group sizes and really enjoy teaching new skills to others. I have a range of expedition experience, with adult and youth teams, in Peru, Borneo, Tanzania, Alaska, Morocco, China, Nepal and Patagonia, as well as many European locatios as well. Whemn planning I prioritise organisation and safety – with some bad jokes thrown in for good measure! I am also full volunteer member of Llanberis Mountain Rescue team and active British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) representative with Mountain Training Cymru.
I am the co-founder and director for RAW Adventures which has been operating since 2010 and has a small but dedicated team based in North Wales helping to introduce people to the adventures they can have in the great outdoors. I am a firm believer in making ideas happen and can regularly be found tapping up contacts for my latest projects. I have contributed previously to Trek & Mountain, Trail, UK Hillwalking and Summit magazine with knowledge articles and gear tests, as well as assisting in early product development with Jöttnar. On the 8th day of the week, i’ll be working on the latest recce project for a client!
