Graham moved from Southern Scotland to Lancashire in 1999 after graduating from St Martin's College with an honours degree in Exercise Science. He became involved in the delivery of outdoor education and developmental training in a Blackpool secondary school where he set up a DofE group. Since then, Graham has moved on to be involved in the delivery of various outdoor activities and programmes. These have involved the build and management of a climbing wall at a Sports College, being part of a team of instructors delivering mountain expeditions into remote mountain areas with challenging young people, working freelance around the Southern Lakes/Lancashire, and his role as Head of Outdoor Learning in a large primary school where he was also the Educational Visits Co-ordinator. During a recent OFSTED inspection his work was described as "Outstanding and Inspirational".
As well as working extensively with groups of young people, Graham has a wealth of experience in working with adult groups. As a Course Director for OEAP, he delivers Visit Leader and Outdoor Learning Card courses, BELA courses, is an NCPD Tutor for Physical Education, coaches adult climbers, and delivers site-specific training for teachers at a school climbing wall. Graham is a partner in an AALA licensed outdoor activities provider 'Outdoor Education NW'. Graham is also in Independent Adviser for ABCTT on the NICAS/NIBAS Screening Committee and the NICAS Coach Development Team.
Graham was the winner of Mountain Training's Leader of the Month award for March 2014, and received a Special Mention in the Leader of the Month Award for November
