From a very early age my parents took me walking, spending most weekends out with the local rambling club, often in the beautiful Peak District, or further afield on longer weekends and holidays to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, Scotland, the Alps or Norway. I was only 11 when I did my first long distance walk, the Coast to Coast, followed by many more in Northern England and Scotland. As an adult I continued that passion with holidays hiking in the European alps, along the GR routes such as Tour du Mont Blanc, Chamonix to Zermatt Haute route, GR5 and the tough Swiss Alpine Pass Route. In 2003/04 I travelled the world and hiked in the North American Rockies, Canadian Rockies, Australia and Tasmania, New Zealand and possibly the pinnacle of all treks, the Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp trek. However, I still don’t think you can beat a good ramble in the Peak District. Walking in the countryside is so beneficial for mental and physical well being and I find, is always so restorative to mind and soul. In 2022 I successfully completed the Hill and Moorland Leadership course, which enables me to lead walks in the places I find so beautiful and share the benefits that come with walking in beautiful places.
I currently offer a monthly guided healthy hike in the Peak District and offer hikes on my wellbeing events/festivals. You can find more information about my events on my website ( www.friendshipyoga.co.uk).
I can work with private clients offering hikes in the Peak District and Yorkshire dales. I have also recently trained a forest bathing guide.
I'm a friendly, kind, down to earth person who loves being out in nature and passionate about supporting clients to improve their wellbeing.
