Climbing since I was 13, I have experienced everything from tying on direct, through swami belts and waist harnesses to the modern harness. Stopped climbing in my mid twenties due to location and family considerations. Started again about 25 years ago.
Realising I was near retirement I set out on the path to an SPA followed by the ML(S) and then the CWDI.
As I live in the West Midlands, climbing walls are the obvious source of employment and I work at three of them. This includes running Fan descenders , Zip wires and Abseils. But I also undertake DofE and CNS work.
I've enjoyed climbing over the years and its good to be able to pass my skills and enthusiasm onto others. It certainly beats a quiet retirement!
