I have been a walker all my life from doing my Scout 1st Class hike in the "wilds" of Leicestershire as a 14 year old in 1966. I am still involved in Scouting, as a Rover Scout in independent traditional Scouting, and love encouraging young people to discover the countryside and the hills. I'm a semi retired DofE trainer, supervisor and assessor and share my passion for the hills with young people on bronze, silver and gold expeditions. I also enjoy discovering new walking delights in the UK and internationally.
I have achieved my ambition of becoming an "old rock climber" and still enjoy the occasional trad climb - and am happy to accept that V Diff is now my limit - and they are indeed very difficult.
