Based in Sheffield, I run a small business providing coaching and instruction over a wide range of mountain activities (www.alienmountain.co.uk). I also chair an organisation called IO (www.independentoutdoor.org.uk), which promotes good practice in outdoor activities in independent schools in the UK and overseas.
The higher awards have opened the way for me to share skills with others, to help them to improve. I like teaching people to lead on trad grit and steep ice the most, and teaching navigation the least.
