My first experiences of the outdoors began when I was very young and got taken out by my parents and grandparents for numerous walks in the hills, valleys and coastlines of Britain. However it was only when studying Outdoor Activity Leadership at Derby Uni that I started to look at climbing and walking seriously as a career and really began enjoying my time outside. This afforded me the motivation to join the Derwent Mountaineering Club and get out as much as I could to sharpen my skills, and experience everything that is involved in climbing and walking such as bouldering, scrambling, alpine climbing, European sport climbing and plenty of British trad.
Now that I've left uni I have become a full time outdoor activities instructor, delivering several different outdoor activities but keeping my main passion for the mountains and crags of Europe.
In the last 10 years I have worked my way through many of the MT awards, mostly within Rock Climbing as well as my LCMLA award.
I'm eager to use this passion for my career because I've always wanted a job which I enjoy getting up in the morning for, one that allows me to travel and meet new people. I wish to invoke that same excitement and passion for the outdoors in others that I meet and instruct along the way.
