Since gaining all my awards I have lead, guided and taught, all aspects of climbing and mountaineering throughout UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. I have lead mountaineering expeditions to Kenya, Kili, The Atlas, Himalayas, Alaska and the Andes. I have been a technical adviser to a couple of companies providing bespoke overseas expedition and for World Challenge from 2000 to 2010. I have run a small company providing training and assessment for both RCI (SPA) and MLS awards. Based in the Peaks, my wife and I own the Cheshire Cheese Inn in Hope, Derbyshire. I am on the AMI committee, mainly responsible for MCI/WMCI Trainee Workshops and have been on since 2020. This is my second time on the committee and believe it is important that mountain instructors have an organisation that supports their interests. Having retired, I now spend my wondering the hills either on my bike, where possible or on foot.
