A full member of BAIML and a qualified teacher, Anne has been living near to Trieste since the mid-1980s. Working as a chemistry teacher, and with the school outdoor programme, she has many years of mountain walking, rock climbing, orienteering and cross-country skiing, including ski-orienteering and ski-marathons in Italy, Switzerland, Slovenia and Austria. She has particular knowledge and experience of north-east Italy (Dolomites, Julian Alps, Carnian Alps) and Slovenia (Julian Alps). As a member of the C.A.I. (Club Alpino Italiano) for more than 30 years, she also has significant experience in ski-mountaineering, snow-shoeing and via ferrata. Recent years have involved leading guided walking groups in Italy, Switzerland, France and Montenegro. Her personal mountaineering and trekking experience extends to the Canadian Rockies, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Ladakh, Kenya, Tanzania (Kilimanjaro), Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Mexico, Turkey, the Alps and the Pyrenees.
