I am the Outdoor Education Adviser for Trafford in Manchester having taken on the role in 1997.
I provide help and advice for school visits across the spectrum.
Having trained as a teacher at Charlotte Mason College in Ambleside I originally took up Outdoor Education Centre work as an instructor and youth worker in both the Lake District and Germany.
In 1980 I took on the role as a Youth Tutor for Trafford Youth Service concentrating on Outdoor Education and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award eventually managing the Youth Service Outdoor Education / DofE Expedition Team until disestablishment in 2015.
I still manage the Community DofE groups in Trafford
The Adviser role has developed since the loss of the Youth Service and I now work with establishment staff, EVCs and Heads on all aspects of Off-site and Educational Visits.
