Hi I'm Paul. I've been working as a mountain leader and rock climbing instructor in the outdoors for the last 25 years for organisations including the Metropolitan Police, Raleigh International and the Scouts; working here in the UK and further afield in South America and Africa. I'm passionate about everything outdoors and my personal mountaineering career has taken me all over the world from ice climbing in Canada, cliff climbing in the South of France to trekking in Australia, South America, Africa and Europe. I've primarily used my mountaineering and rock climbing qualifications to facilitate the development of leadership skills and promote cohesive working relationships within teams, but I'm equally happy working in the background as part of the safety team.
Having retired from the police in 2019 I now spend much of my time in the local Shropshire hills either walking or mountain biking with frequent trips into mid and north Wales and running my own aerial photographic and survey business, Worker Drones UK.
I live in Shropshire with my wife and two boys, both of whom are at secondary school and my wife runs her own successful business growing beautiful local flowers with a negative carbon footprint.

Having gained my ML Summer and Single Pitch Award, now called Rock Climbing Instructors Award, in the mid 1990's I spent a few years working for the Metropolitan Police Leadership Development Team. Here I had the opportunity to work as a facilitator and as part of the safety team taking police officers out of their comfort zone and out into the mountains, lakes and mines of North Wales. I've also been lucky enough to work on 2 Raleigh International expeditions, the first in Chile (Region XI) working as a mountain leader and some years later working on an expedition in Namibia as the Deputy Expedition Leader and helping out on the trekking projects in the Namib desert.
I'm currently helping run mountain activities for the the local Scout group and working with organisations that supply safety teams for various charity events where qualified ML's are required.
