For a long time I have had a passion and a deep connection for the mountains and the wild spaces of the UK. I was first introduced at an early age on family holidays staying with my Grandparents in St Bees, West Cumbria. From their house my Father and I explored the valleys and peaks of Ennerdale and Wasdale. Despite often being poorly equipped, and lacking any formal navigation training, we made many successful summit attempts on lakeland peaks and from this point on I knew I was hooked. Years later I returned to the Lakes to study at Charlotte Mason College and then on to employment with the Outward Bound Trust. My travels and searches for new wild spaces have taken me to the Alps, North America and the Himalayas, however I am constantly astounded by the beauty and quality of adventures that can be found right here at home.
