I love the outdoors and in particular the hills and mountains and have been interested in sport and hill walking from a young age. I was a police officer for thirty years and during that time I volunteered with the Boy's Brigade and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme introducing young people to the outdoors and in particular camping and expeditions. On retirement in 2013 I started up my own business as a Fitness Trainer and Mountain Leader. I still continue to volunteer but have incorporated my particular interest in the Duke of Edinburgh Expedition section of the award into my business as a freelance Mountain Leader. I spend as much time as I can outdoors and enjoy keeping fit which includes competing in Triathlon and running races. If I can find events in the mountains such as The Helvellyn Triathlon and Brutal Triathlon, even better. I have experience in coaching and mentoring and I attended a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Assessor’s Course In June 2015.
I am the holder of a mountain first aid qualification and am fully insured and DBS checked.
