Smartphone Navigation using OutdoorActive for IMLs
A very practical workshop that covers everything an IML needs to know to exploit the amazing go-to app for IMLs, OutdoorActive. First, we get to grips with complicated but powerful user interface of OutdoorActive and its superb range of map. Next, the basics, location from the map and in the relevant local coordinates, tracking, creating waypoints and basic navigation from where I am to a point on the map, a waypoint or coordinates. Finally, we make OutdoorActive sing! Planning routes or mini routes, using both network and direct navigation, syncing them seamlessly with our wearable or other GPS device, following them, and dealing with any unexpected circumstances. We start, interactively indoors, and soon get out onto the local hills to use OutdoorActive for real. At the end of the workshop, you will be entirely conversant with the key features of OutdoorActive, and never want to use another app.
