This will be a peer-led workshop facilitated by experienced sport climber and AMI member Mark Stevenson.
Location - Meeting at Wilf's Cafe in Staveley before heading to Scout Scar.
Prerequisites - Open to all trainee and full AMI members. Current ability to lead climb F5+ outdoors.

The workshop will comprise of three sessions:
- Indoor discussion on current UK sport climbing and risk management.
- Practical personal climbing session to discuss and consolidate good practice.
- Open session to focus on specific topics of most interest to attendees.
The main topics to be covered are:
- Sport climbing within the Mountain Training awards scheme.
- Good practice and current equipment for personal sport climbing.
- Safer sport. Minimising risks and avoiding common accidents.
Optional topics, one of which is likely to be covered in more detail during the afternoon session:
- High quality (dynamic belaying) and safer falling.
- Redpointing skills and tactics.
- Technique coaching on sport routes.
