WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
This one day course is for climbers who are competent at Lead Climbing (Trad or Sport). It is also suitable for MTA members, RCI trainees and fully qualified RCI instructors looking to develop their personal rope skills, especially if going on to the MCI award.
What’s Included:
Revision of setting up belays.
Simple problem avoidance.
Personal abseiling safety.
Assisted & unassisted hoists.
Escaping the system.
Ascending and descending a fixed rope.
Passing knots.
Emergency procedures.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS
The workshop will be delivered by Chris Newton-Goverd, MCI, WML & IML. Chris has over 25 years’ experience working & teaching in the mountains and on crags in the UK, Europe and Africa.
He is a RRMT & Rope Rescue Supervisor with Mountain Rescue.
