Bristly Ridge is frequently underestimated, route choices are not obvious and it is a consequential scramble which pushes the scope and comfort of most mountain leaders. It is, however, a brilliant route that follows on impressively from a traverse of Tryfan. We’ll take a look at the various starts and evaluate each one in turn. We’ll ascend the ridge identifying the most dangerous sections. We’ll work through the best route to lead people on and look at various ways of descending. The ratio of 1:4 reflects the seriousness of the terrain encountered on the scramble.
You must be comfortable on scrambling terrain. This is a workshop for Mountain Leaders who are thinking about leading Bristly Ridge rather than a scrambling workshop for trainees
Please come ready for a hill day whatever the weather. Bring your packed lunch and a drink.
You’ll get one MTA CPD point.
As soon as there is one booking this workshop is guaranteed to run. I have a no cancellation policy so that you can book in confidence and plan around the date of the workshop. Cheers.
