WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
Remote Supervision for walking expeditions
This course is aimed at experienced and qualified leaders who are responsible for training and supervising groups remotely in wild country. It is therefore highly relevant for those involved in supporting groups with their D of E expeditions, Ten Tors training and other development courses.
The course has been developed by Mountain Training along with Gavin Kelly who will be delivering it. The course will introduce the risk assessment of remote supervision, planning for remote supervision, management and supervision techniques and technologies, and emergency responses for remote expeditions. It will also focus on the decision making processes that are so crucial for this role. The course is highly interactive and will involve attendees discussing and responding to varied scenarios, whilst examining their own decision making processes and the factors, known and unknown, that influence these.
The course development has involved consultation with partner bodies to create a national approach to this topic.
The zoom link will be emailed to you before the course.
