WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
Hone your navigation by focusing on the 6 D's of navigation (Destination, Direction, Distance, Duration, Description and Danger) naviagting along a route in the dark. Plenty of opportunity to lead a leg, discuss tactics (boxing etc) and learning from your peers. Nav/pacing beads will be given to you on the evening-and if you are new to night nav spare kit available.
Peer led-so welcome to come along and observe-valuable to trainees/award holders and all walking awards (ML/HML/LL).
Networking encouraged-always valuable to meet like minded people!
6.45 meet-route is approx 2-1/2 miles, so finish 9.30 ish.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Map 1:25 OL22 (New Forest-includes Christchurch),head torch, compass and appropriate clothing for what could be a cold evening. A OS pdf of the route will be sent in advance-so you don't have to buy a full map if you can print off.
CATERING/FOOD
Clothing commensurate to a winter/spring night-advisable to bring hot flask.

Volunteer for 7 years and qualified ML-delivered approx 20 night navs, and workshop is peer led
