ADDITIONAL DATE - NEW FOR 2025 - Certificated Safeguarding Course for Outdoor Leaders

What to expect: A one day certificated Level 2 Safeguarding course (valid for 3 yrs) designed for UK & Overseas Outdoor Leaders/Supervisors/sports coaches and including staff leading treks/ DofE etc. The workshop gives individuals specific tools for managing and leading participants/teams within a specific context of promoting the 'safeguarding' of others and the Leader. All relevant up-to date legislation covered including the developments in the Duty of Care role. It includes interactive sessions, case studies and scenario based examples, along with up-to-date national developments in safeguarding. The session is suitable for new and established leaders/teachers/coaches who want to develop their skills and share their experiences. The workshop is also relevant for those who lead both youth and adult expeditions. A useful and practical resource pack supplied to participants.

Equipment Participants should bring pen / paper / laptops (not essential)

Provider info Matt Brown is an IML, adventurer and qualified Social Worker with renowned Independent Safeguarding consultant/training experience. He regulary provides CPD to the Associations. He has been leading and working on expeditions worldwide for 30 years. Matt has specialist statutory child & adult protection investigation/management experience working with public protection agencies worldwide and across UK Safeguarding Boards.
