Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
The course will be run by Ellis Bird who is a mountain instructor, climbing coach and an avid climbing. He has a back ground in education with a PGCE and Master in Sports Coaching. He currently works part time at University of Chichester and runs his own business providing a range of instructor qualifications and technical advice for a range of public and school climbing walls.

The course is 10:00 - 17:00 and cost £110 + wall entry fee.
Course Content:
This is a Mountain Training course and will follow the Climbing Wall Instructor syllabus. On booking the course a fall programme of what is expected on the day will be provided. You will be given homework prior to the assessment to plan roped sessions and a bouldering induction. On the day of the assessment you will be required to bring along, and sign in two novice climbers between 12.30 - 14.30. You will then take your two novice climbers on a boulder induction, introduction to ropes, and auto belays.
