About

Purpose

The AMI Managing Safety Seminar is a facilitative workshop aimed at raising awareness and understanding surrounding current safety trends within the outdoor industry and building on the incident reports received from the membership. It aims to promote a reflective approach to members own practice.

Aims

  • To raise awareness of incident reporting and the AMI professional standards processes
  • To explore the influences on client and instructor safety whilst working in the mountains
  • To explore areas where we can confirm or adapt our working practices to improve client/instructor safety.

Facilitated by Keith Ball AMI Chair of Professional Standards Committee.

Venue

The seminar will take place at The Quay Climbing Wall, Exeter,  EX2 8AX 6.30-9.00 PM, Wednesday 28th May.

Because of the relevance and importance of the workshop content in developing the safety awareness of the membership, it will carry a full days core CPD point. The workshop is open to all full members and is strongly recommended for furthering personal development.

The workshop is free to attend.

Please email Keith Ball at professional.standards@ami.org.uk to book a place.
