Award Description
Our Rock Skills courses are designed to provide structured training opportunities for people who want to learn more and become independent climbers. There are three different levels so that complete beginners and those with more experience can choose the most appropriate starting point.

Rock Skills Intermediate

Climbing time is maximised. Fundamental skills and techniques are covered such as how to tie into the rope and how to move efficiently and safely on rock. Enjoying your time climbing is emphasised. Every effort is made to encourage and equip the participant with the skills and enthusiasm necessary to progress to the next stage of their climbing.

• Equipment, belay devices
• Introduction to climbing protection
• Building anchors
• Top and bottom rope belaying
• Belaying and holding a fall

RCDI: Rock Climbing Development Instructor (Lead climbing Instruction)
