Developed by route setters Rob Napier and Ian Dunn, the workshop is appropriate for a wide range of people, including teachers who want to set problems to teach different techniques, coaches seeking to widen their skills and climbing wall staff. The do’s and don’ts of good route setting are discussed and how to set interesting climbs for young people is a key part of the day. The workshop is very practical in nature, with participants setting grade specific problems and traverses. Participants will receive feedback on their setting, and how subtle modifications can improve the climbing experience or create something very different.
