TEACHING BELAYING
This short online MTA session forms part of a free series of informative and interactive webinars designed to help provide continued support for members during the current lockdown. All sessions are hosted by experts in their fields and/or Mountain Training Course Directors that run training and assessment courses. The majority of our hosts are also current MTA workshop providers. All hosts are generously volunteering their time to run these sessions for members.
Webinar host: Jon Garside
This interactive discussion-based workshop will explore how we teach belaying. Consideration will be made to how the belay device, karabiner and ropes interact and how this might inform equipment choice, alongside participant experience and the climbing activity being delivered.
Please read the BMC Belaying and Abseiling leaflet in advance of the workshop.
